Book a Discovery Flight
A discovery flight is your introduction to flying — a real lesson in a real airplane, with your hands on the controls from takeoff to landing. No experience needed.
What the flight includes
Meet your instructor, walk around the airplane, and go over what you'll do in the air.
Takeoff, basic maneuvers in the local practice area, and a hand on the controls for the landing.
Your time counts toward a pilot certificate if you decide to keep going.
What it costs
You pay for the airplane through Glidepath, fuel to the airport, and your instructor directly.
Dry rate — fuel is not included. Billed on engine running time.
Paid directly to the airport fuel provider, not to Glidepath. Varies by aircraft and how you fly it.
Paid directly to your instructor. Glidepath does not employ instructors or set their rates.
Before your flight
These are required by federal regulation and our insurance. Create your account and upload them — most people finish in about ten minutes.
- TSA citizenship verification
A valid U.S. passport, or a birth certificate plus government photo ID. Uploaded in your account and approved by our staff before you fly.
- Government photo ID
Driver's license or passport — must be current.
- Emergency contact
Name and phone number for someone we can reach.
- Signed lease agreement
Signed electronically in your account — takes about a minute.
- Renter's insurance
Proof of at least $50,000 aircraft damage liability coverage, valid on the day of your flight.
Until you're checked out in an aircraft as a certificated pilot, your reservations are booked as training flights with an instructor.
